Pre-Admission Testing RN - Surgery

About the role

Under the general supervision of the Surgery Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for seeing patients for Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) appointments or placing PAT phone calls, if appropriate, for patients scheduled for surgery prior to the date of surgery. This includes conducting pre-admission assessments, reviewing medical and medication histories, and ensuring appropriate lab, x-ray, and other orders are completed. You will implement the policies and procedures of the Surgery Department to ensure the appropriateness of care for all patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) appointments or phone calls for patients scheduled for surgery.
• Review medical and medication histories for surgical patients.
• Ensure appropriate lab, x-ray, and other diagnostic orders are completed prior to surgery.
• Implement Surgery Department policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS & ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

Preferred: Minimum of one (1) year work experience in the operating room.
