Practicum & Internships

Overview

The dedicated group of intern counselors at New Beginnings provides individual, group, couples, and family counseling to diverse clients. They are supervised by experienced clinical supervisors and mental health professionals, and supported by community volunteers.

Training Program

• Weekly supervision meetings with experienced supervisors
• Advanced training and feedback on clinical skills
• Quarterly advanced clinical trainings covering core competencies and specific topics
• Six 10-hour training sessions per year focusing on working with special populations or theoretical approaches
• Monthly presentations from local community providers to enhance resource knowledge and community connections
