Practice Coordinator Odessa Clinic
Job Summary
The Coordinator functions as the immediate supervisor for all clinic personnel and clinic services. This position functions as a liaison between patient, providers, staff and administration. Duties include but are not limited to directing, supervising and coordinating activities of the clinic staff. Prepare work schedules and expedite work flow. Is tactful and courteous and displays cooperation and integrity in dealing with physicians, clinic staff, patients and visitors. Monitors billing, collections, accounts payable, prepares required reports for hospital: including Finance, QA/PI, and Human Resources. Works closely with the VP of Operations, other clinic managers, and cooperatively with other clinic personnel for the delivery of quality patient care.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate / GED
- Prior two years related experience in a medical business office or registration area. Prior supervisor level or higher experience preferred.
- Should be familiar with medical terminology.
- General knowledge of government insurance programs including Medicare and Medicaid, HMO, PPO, and MC+ insurances.
- Basic ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS knowledge. Prior coding experience or exposure is a benefit.
- Basic Life Support certification preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.
- Typing and computer skills; familiarity with computerized billing systems or software.
