About the role
The Practice Assistant supports the health care team at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center's Cancer Center by performing patient-related clerical duties, maintaining schedules, and acting as a liaison between patients and clinical staff.
Responsibilities
- Completes paperwork and maintains logs including confirmation receipts
- Covers other Practice Assistants as needed
- Reviews and reconciles white sheets for primary physician practices
- Reschedules appointments as needed
- Obtains/faxes/mails medical reports as requested
- Ensures all patients are scheduled according to physician templates
- Answers phones, forwards studies, and inputs appointments into the EMR
- Facilitates communication between patients, families, and the medical team
- Serves as a liaison between patients and the clinical staff
Requirements
- High School Graduate
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Successful completion of all Orientation and Training Programs
- Preferred: College Degree
- Preferred: Scheduling experience
- Preferred: Healthcare experience
- Preferred: Mosaiq experience
Qualifications
