Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other instructors to prepare, administer, and grade examinations for the course.
• Prepares final evaluations for the course.
• Affirms class attendance and grades are recorded and submitted.
• Supports strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure program quality.
• Plans and implements orientation for new faculty in both theoretical and clinical settings.
• Utilizes principles of teaching that consider the characteristics of adult learners.
• Maintains continuous efforts to enhance the quality of instruction.
• Demonstrates or acquires skills for using online activities as enhancements to course content during interactive teaching and learning.
• Maintains student records of attendance, skills check-off forms, and assists with program data collection.
• Submits required program reports and forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner.
• Maintains current with new technologies and safety regulations.
• Participates in committee activities supporting the mission and function of the nursing program.
• Attends faculty meetings.
• Plans and supervises student clinical experiences in assigned health care facilities.
• Evaluates student performance in relation to clinical learning outcomes according to Unitek Learning and Department of Nursing policies and procedures.
• Provides immediate feedback on clinical performance or specific events observed.
• Maintains student records of clinical attendance, skills check-off forms, and assists with program data collection.
• Makes sure clinical assignments meet both student and facility needs.
• Determines the best method to observe, instruct, and evaluate students.
• Determines if clinical facilities meet all health and safety requirements for Unitek Learning students to attend clinicals.
• Provides ongoing communication access to students through scheduled office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods.
• Participates in student advising activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• At least three years of bedside nursing experience in the relevant field.
