About the role
Pays attention to consumer/physician/referral source demand for inpatient & outpatient rehabilitation services.
Promotes community education in rehabilitation & wellness.
Aids in the development & implementation of the marketing plan.
Responsibilities
- Pre-admission assessment of patient candidates for the Rehabilitation Care Unit.
- Determination of the discharge plan and obtaining Medical Director & business office approval.
- Establishes and maintains optimum working relationships with third party payers, case management organizations, physicians, discharge planners and community referral sources.
- Carefully coordinates, assesses, monitors and evaluates the IRF-PAI (Inpatient Rehab Facility-Patient Assessment Instrument) process.
- Functions as a vital member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Keenly knowledgeable and up to date on Medicare regulations affecting the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility, ensuring appropriate reimbursement.
- Trains and ensures staff competency and accuracy with FIM scoring.
- Audits charts to ensure staff competency and accuracy with FIM guidelines and CMS Quality Indicators.
- Educates physicians on admission criteria and clinical documentation to support admission and reimbursement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum RN, Therapist, Bachelors in Marketing/Business preferred.
- Current CA license; current CPR, Health Care Provider (AHA).
- Two (2) years Rehabilitation experience preferred.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology.
- Three (3) years of experience in the rehab area.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Business preferred.
- Experience: Two (2) years rehabilitation experience preferred, three (3) years of experience in the rehab area.
- Licenses: Current CA license; current CPR, Health Care Provider (AHA).
Skills
- Knowledgeable in Medicare regulations affecting the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility.
- Proficient in FIM scoring and CMS Quality Indicators.
- Ability to educate and train staff on admission criteria and clinical documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

$39.01 per hour, with potential increases based on performance and qualifications.
Schedule
Per Diem, Days schedule, 8-hour shifts, with no more than 3 shifts per pay period.
