About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for all technical elements of the fleet's engines and APU portfolio, including the management of engine and APU contracts, as well as delivery and redelivery activities. Accountable for overseeing technical records, workshop control processes, and maintaining relationships with engine manufacturers and technical service providers. Additionally responsible for the review and approval of shop visit invoices, along with budget planning and cost control.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a sizeable fleet of aircraft across three engine types (A330, A320 CEO, and A320 NEO).
  • Ensure availability of sufficient engine spares to avoid AOG situations due to engine issues and oversee all engine and APU shop visits.
  • Ensure OEM advisories and CNRs are reviewed and closed within the required timeframes.
  • Liaise with engine and APU manufacturers/OEMs to develop both short- and long-term solutions to in-service issues and oversee scrap and piece part inspections as required.
  • Oversee all engine and APU-related OEM technical publications (ADs, SBs, SLs, etc.) and determine appropriate compliance actions, whether in-house or during shop visits.
  • Cook up with internal departments to improve maintenance programmes and daily operations, with the aim of reducing engineering delays, MEL items, and pilot reports (PIREPS).
  • Undertake special tasks and projects as assigned by the VP Engineering or COO.
  • Manage shop visits for redelivery aircraft engines and APUs, ensuring work scopes are aligned with redelivery requirements.

Requirements

  • Extensive demonstrable experience within an Airline Powerplant specifically CFM 56 and CFM LEAP-1A.
  • Engineering discipline post study Bachelor of Science degree or above in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Aeronautical engineering and related engineering fields.
  • Over 20 years of industry experience, including more than 15 years in certified roles, with a strong focus on engine and APU management, borescope inspections, and aircraft deliveries and redeliveries.
  • Proven track record in maintaining fleet reliability and achieving zero AOG events.
  • Excellent English written and speaking skills with strong communicating abilities in both commercial and technical environment.
