About the role
This position is within the powerhouse & maintenance team at FCA Group. The role involves performing a variety of general maintenance tasks, including dismantling machines, welding, moving machinery, cleaning, lubricating, adjusting parts, diagnosing and repairing trouble in electrical systems, and working from layout plans.Responsibilities
- Work any shift and work overtime, including daily, weekends and holidays as required
- Dismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools
- Arc, acetylene and hydrogen weld
- Properly move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks
- Properly use tools and equipment such as drill presses, power saws, chain falls, jacks, skids, slings, burning torches, and other types of portable and hand tools
- Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery
- Locate, diagnose and repair trouble in electrical systems or equipment
- Work from layout plans, blueprints, drawings or other specifications to determine work procedures
- Troubleshoot electric systems such as primary and secondary circuit troubleshooting, electronic control, electrical instrumentation, SCR
- Perform preventative maintenance, general motor repair, tune-up, diagnostic engine drive line and hydraulic lubrication, repair adjustment or replacement of starters, governors and power units
- Repair, adjust and install automatic transmissions, standard transmissions, torque converters, and differential assemblies
- Perform steering, drive axle and brake adjustment repair / replacement
- Repair, adjust and install lifts, winches, and hydraulic pumps and motors
- Provide mechanical support to operations to locate and diagnose trouble in mechanical systems or equipment
- Perform tasks historically assigned to other mechanical classifications (i.e., Pipefitter)
- Complete required preventive maintenance at defined intervals on all mechanical equipment
- Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and Company
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 4 years of combined experience and training in one (1) or a combination of the following trades: Mechanical Technician, Millwright or Electrician: or, a U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate for Millwright or Electrician
- Strong computer skills
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to:
- Troubleshoot electric systems such as primary and secondary circuit troubleshooting, electronic control, electrical instrumentation, SCR
