Powered Truck Operator

About the role

The Powered Truck Operator (PTO) plays a crucial role in a multi-shift, multi-site warehouse operation managed by PaperWorks. PaperWorks is an integrated North American provider of 100% recycled paperboard and specialized folding cartons for packaging applications, committed to sustainable forestry and procurement practices.

Responsibilities

• Receives, ships, and handles materials within the facility.
• Loads and unloads trailers as needed.
• Transports materials within the facility using various motorized pallet trucks.
• Ensures all product is stacked neatly and safely when stored or delivered to a location.
• Maintains accuracy of all inventory movement by completing required forms and utilizing bar code readers.
• Maintains warehouse organization and cleanliness.
• Operates within policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements, including occupational health and safety procedures and SafeStart practices.
• Performs and documents required pre-trip inspections, reporting any deficiencies.
• Establishes, maintains, and promotes high standards of customer service.
• Operates equipment safely by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and managing preventive maintenance and repairs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift certification.
• Minimum of 6 - 12 months' accident-free experience.
• Ability to read and interpret information in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
