About the role
The Powered Truck Operator (PTO) plays a crucial role in a multi-shift, multi-site warehouse operation managed by PaperWorks, a leading provider of 100% recycled paperboard and specialized folding cartons.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate all powered industrial trucks (PITs) in accordance with PaperWorks' rules and regulations.
- Handle raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods with precision and efficiency using forklifts, reach trucks, and double reach trucks.
- Load and unload trucks in a timely and organized manner.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on PITs to ensure proper functionality.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production and shipping goals.
- Operates battery-operated equipment for a variety of purposes including loading and unloading trailers, transporting material within the facility, storing and staging material.
- Ensures all product is stacked neatly and safely when stored or delivered to location.
- Maintains accuracy of all inventory movement at all times.
- Insures inventory accuracy by proper completion of all required forms and by proper utilization of bar code readers.
- Maintains Warehouse organization and housekeeping.
- Operates within policies & procedures, and maintains compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements; including compliance with Occupational Health and Safety procedures and SafeStart practices.
- Performs and documents required pre-trip inspections and reports any deficiencies.
- Establishes, maintains and promotes high standards of customer service.
- Keeps equipment operating safely with proper use and in accordance with operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and managing preventive maintenance and repairs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of PIT experience.
- Minimum of 6 - 12 months’ accident-free experience.
- Ability to read and interpret information, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.

Pay
Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, education/training, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. The starting pay range is $19/hr - $23/hr.
