Power Plant Entry Operator

About the role

The Power Plant Entry Operator supports the Power Plant at Georgia-Pacific's manufacturing facility in Muskogee, OK. The position involves maintaining and monitoring power plant auxiliary equipment, performing equipment inspections, and providing operational support.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor power plant auxiliary equipment and perform equipment field inspections to ensure optimal operation
• Provide operational support in the absence of key positions within the crew
• Promote continual improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance safety and equipment reliability
• Perform required inspections, lubrications, and daily/weekly clean-up
• Provide coverage for water testing, review results, and take corrective actions
• Provide feedback/input on equipment conditions, potential failure risks, corrections, and additions to job plans

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least one of the following:
• A 2-year technical degree in a mechanical, electrical, power plant technology, or related field
• At least two (2) years or more of electrical or mechanical work experience in a manufacturing environment
• At least three (3) years or more of operational work experience in a manufacturing environment
• At least one (1) year or more of work experience in a power plant environment
• Experience in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)

Qualifications

• Two (2) or more years of electrical or mechanical work experience in a power plant environment
• Experience with operational or maintenance of steam turbines
• Experience utilizing distributed control systems (DCS) or programmable logic controls (PLCs)
• Experience with water quality testing for boilers and process water
• Three (3) or more years of electrical or mechanical work experience in a manufacturing environment

Skills

• Microsoft Office tools proficiency

Pay

The starting pay for this position is $25.78.

Schedule

The shift is a 12-hour rotating schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
