Power Plant Entry Operator
About the role
The Power Plant Entry Operator supports the Power Plant at Georgia-Pacific's manufacturing facility in Muskogee, OK. The position involves maintaining and monitoring power plant auxiliary equipment, performing equipment inspections, and providing operational support.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor power plant auxiliary equipment and perform equipment field inspections to ensure optimal operation
- Provide operational support in the absence of key positions within the crew
- Promote continual improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance safety and equipment reliability
- Perform required inspections, lubrications, and daily/weekly clean-up
- Provide coverage for water testing, review results, and take corrective actions
- Provide feedback/input on equipment conditions, potential failure risks, corrections, and additions to job plans
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least one of the following:
- A 2-year technical degree in a mechanical, electrical, power plant technology, or related field
- At least two (2) years or more of electrical or mechanical work experience in a manufacturing environment
- At least three (3) years or more of operational work experience in a manufacturing environment
- At least one (1) year or more of work experience in a power plant environment
- Experience in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
Qualifications
- Two (2) or more years of electrical or mechanical work experience in a power plant environment
- Experience with operational or maintenance of steam turbines
- Experience utilizing distributed control systems (DCS) or programmable logic controls (PLCs)
- Experience with water quality testing for boilers and process water
- Three (3) or more years of electrical or mechanical work experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills
- Microsoft Office tools proficiency

Pay
The starting pay for this position is $25.78.
Schedule
The shift is a 12-hour rotating schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
