About the role

Construction Specialists provide contractor oversight for field activities. This includes adherence to drawings and specifications, coordination of activities with existing facilities, and oversight of safety, environmental, and QA/QC compliance. You will support the Site Construction Manager in contractor management and serve as the interface for Discipline Engineers on construction issues. Strong electrical experience in power-plant construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor performance by the contractor and their subcontractors regarding earthwork, mechanical systems and piping, electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safe work practices and environmental work practices.
  • Monitor performance against the schedule.
  • Validate milestones and/or quantities submitted by the contractor for payment.
  • Assist in resolution of field problems as appropriate.
  • Identify and provide field observations of key work activities.
  • Ensure the quality of construction through continuous monitoring of the construction and installation QC process.
  • Support a diverse Construction and Maintenance team to achieve company objectives.
  • Execute construction, maintenance, and restoration activities.
  • Support management of customer commitment dates and requests to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices, standards, work methods, and procedures.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Valid driver’s license (you will be required to drive a company pick-up truck or UTV onsite).
