Power Plant Auxiliary Operator
About the role
Join our team as an Auxiliary Operator, where you will play a vital role in the operation and maintenance of our plant auxiliary systems, including water treatment, air compressors, cooling towers, boilers, and chemical dosing.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily field operations for two 1x1 combined cycle power plants, executing tasks as directed by the Control Room Operator or Operations Manager.
- Comply with safety regulations and plant procedures, including lock-out-tag-out (LOTO), confined spaces, safety permits, and work at heights.
- Maintain the plant for safe operation, promptly reporting unsafe conditions or work practices to the Control Room Operator or Operations Manager.
- Report defective equipment and failures in the CMMS to ensure timely maintenance.
- Conduct routine inspections, accurately recording readings and checklists to maintain operational integrity.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or recognized equivalent, along with two years of college or vocational training in mechanical technology, or equivalent experience preferred.
- One to five years of experience in power plant mechanical maintenance, planning, coordination, or related military training preferred.
- Legal authorization for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
Qualifications
- Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
Skills
- Proficiency in chemical analysis routines.
- Experience with preventive inspections.
- Knowledge of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Ability to perform lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) tasks.
- Experience in supervising confined space operations.
