About the role

As a Power Generation Project Manager, you will join a highly capable, multi-discipline team supporting power and energy projects in the industrial, institutional, IPP, data center, and utility power industries. You will work on projects involving traditional generation technologies (gas-fired engines/turbines/boilers, combined heat and power systems) as well as renewables (solar/wind) and battery energy storage (Li-Ion/long-duration). As a seller-doer, you will maintain client relationships, bring in projects, develop execution strategies, and lead multi-discipline teams to successful completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project team, manage schedule and budget, and coordinate with engineering disciplines.
  • Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff in completing project activities.
  • Develop the project work plan for execution and achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals.
  • Identify and process scope changes while maintaining regular communication with the client.
  • Monitor project deliverables for quality, completeness, and conformance to client expectations.
  • Develop and maintain client relations and perform marketing, business development, and consulting activities.
  • Act as proposal manager, assist in proposal preparation, and review contract terms and risks.
  • Develop the scope of work and implement quality control checks per established procedures.
  • Conduct negotiations for client approval and perform contract administration for change orders.
  • Provide training and mentoring to project team staff on project management and consulting issues.
  • Routinely report project progress to the Business Group Manager and Operations leaders.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 7 years of related experience, including a minimum of 2 years in project management.
  • Professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng) recognized by the licensing board for the position’s location.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Commitment to active participation in our employee-owned culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant utility-scale power project management experience.
  • Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong communication, leadership, planning, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • MS Office, Adobe, and other relevant software experience.
  • Texas PE license or ability to obtain reciprocity.

Locations

United States-Texas (Dallas, Round Rock, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Houston), United States-Arkansas (Little Rock), United States-Louisiana (Baton Rouge, Lafayette), United States-Oklahoma (Tulsa).

Schedule

Full-time.
