Power Generation Data Center Lead
About the role
The Power Generation Data Center Lead will work with HDR's national Power, Power Generation and Technology practice leaders to serve existing clients and develop new clients globally. The role involves leading the Power Generation consulting services in support of data center and mission critical projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and presenting at industry events.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with leads representing Power Generation, Power Delivery, Data Centers, Due Diligence, and Industrial services.
- Provide oversight for the coordination, quality, and timely completion of Power Generation projects or programs in support of data centers.
- Serve key roles as necessary in projects and pursuits.
- Cook up the involvement and input of multi-disciplinary teams in support of development of power generation solutions in support of data centers.
- Support client relationships, marketing, project execution, and collaboration meetings.
- Perform other duties as needed, focusing on leading high performing teams and collaborating within the HDR matrix to support the data center response.
- Present at industry and client events to support HDR brand awareness.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business or engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience with the development, specification, and negotiation of power generation systems for simple cycle, combined cycle, cogeneration, distributed generation, reciprocating engine, combined heat and power, microgrids, and renewable projects.
- Proven ability to plan, schedule, and lead complex design and consulting assignments.
- Experience supporting large demand customers such as data centers with infrastructure development.
- Preferred experience working with a variety of client types including regulated and non-regulated utilities, independent power producers, municipalities, and other public and private clients.
- Knowledge of the electric power system, market participants, energy contracts and transactions, project finance, and utility-scale and distributed power generation technologies.
- Client development and management skills with a strong ability to maintain a high standard of quality.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to travel to in-person meetings with clients.
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.

Pay
Compensation range based on experience and location: $169,575 - $232,050.
