Primary Objective

Design, develop, and optimize power conversion systems and electronic circuits for our next-generation products. You will work across the full development lifecycle — from concept and simulation through prototype, validation, and production release — collaborating closely with firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams.

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Apply the electrical principles to design, develop and improve electrical products and systems.
  • Design and develop power conversion topologies including DC-DC converters, inverters, rectifiers, and motor drives from specifications through production.
  • Conduct circuit simulation and analysis using tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent to validate designs before hardware builds.
  • Conduct thermal analysis, component selection, and magnetic design (transformers, inductors) for high-efficiency, high-reliability systems.
  • Lead hardware verification and testing, including EMI/EMC compliance, efficiency characterization, and stress testing to meet regulatory standards (UL, CE, IEC).
  • Collaborate with firmware engineers to develop and tune control algorithms (e.g., PWM, PID, MPPT) and support bring-up and debugging of power management systems.
  • Create and maintain design documentation including schematics, BOM, test plans, and engineering reports in compliance with internal quality and configuration management processes.
  • Develop concepts and designs that meet or exceed the system's cost and performance goals. Also, develops concepts and designs for support of pre-sale applications as applicable.
  • Plans and estimates cross functional development efforts.
  • Provide technical reports, presentations, knowledge sharing.
  • Reviews progress & evaluate results related to projects.
  • Supports digital communication and third-party interfaces.
  • Interfaces with vendors of electronic components, key development tools and technologies. (apply to senior levels).

General Qualifications

  • BS degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Proven experience leading power electronic new product development from start to finish

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in electrical engineering or related field
  • Experience with permanent magnet synchronous motor control circuits
  • Familiarity with current power electronic components (e.g., wide band gap hard-switched devices)
  • Excellent understanding of electromagnetic physics and practical methods to test and troubleshoot high frequency, med/high voltage switching events
  • Experience with electrical design software (e.g,. Altium)
  • Experience with custom systems and high-performance (e.g,. Motorsport, Aerospace) applications

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Compensation Information
