Power Congestion Trader - PJM - EVERGREEN
What You Can Expect
As a Congestion Trader at ENGIE Energy Marketing North America based in the Galleria area of Houston, you will report to the Director of Congestion Trading. You will be responsible for the deployment of nodal trading strategies.
Independent System Operator’s (ISO’s): Pennsylvania-New Jersey Interconnection (PJM).
- Deploy fundamental-based nodal trading strategies using ISO congestion products across various periods in the relevant ISO
- Develop a systematic approach to fundamental analytics and trade execution
- Communicate and demonstrate improvements in the performance benchmarks per the need of the organization
- Act as the central resource of the firm regarding the relevant ISO information, working with various groups in the organization
- Communicate the decisions and drivers behind your trades in a timely manner and per the need of the organization
- Comply with the ISO and company protocols
- Develop opportunities to generate new revenue streams such as deal flows and virtual markets
- Support asset managers with ISO fundamental views/ analyses
- Participate in ISO meetings as appropriate, and assess and communicate commercial impacts to the team
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics or similar discipline
- A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of five (5) years in a congestion trading role in PJM
- A strong working knowledge of power network topology
- Disciplined risk management approach
- Highly analytical thinking and understanding of probability and risks
- Enjoy problem solving and creating trading opportunities
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Willingness to engage in dialogue and debate with colleagues
- Ability to work autonomously and be flexible
- Experience with Day-Ahead Locational Market Clearing Prices Analyzer (Dayzer), PLEXOS or similar software
- Proficiency in Excel, VB, Python, R, Structured Query Language (SQL)
