Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Power BI datasets, dataflows, semantic layers, and related reporting structures that support ongoing analytical and operational needs.
  • Produce scheduled reports for business stakeholders, ensure timely distribution, and investigate reporting issues or data discrepancies when they arise.
  • Partner with BI leadership on project-based analysis and ad hoc requests by creating reporting solutions, validating output, documenting methods, and testing updates.
  • Create, publish, and enhance dashboards and reports in Power BI while following established request intake, prioritization, and change control practices.
  • Oversee report refresh activities, monitor dashboard performance, and resolve data or processing issues to keep business intelligence products dependable.
  • Carry out quality review procedures for new and existing reports to confirm that results are accurate, consistent, and aligned with business expectations before release.
  • Improve report efficiency and scalability through data model refinement, query optimization, and targeted enhancements to the reporting environment.
  • Maintain clear business and technical documentation, including metric definitions, report specifications, and supporting reference materials based on team standards.
  • Reconcile and validate data across multiple source systems to strengthen confidence in reporting outputs and support data warehouse improvement efforts through testing and implementation assistance.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in business analysis, business intelligence, or a closely related reporting role.
  • Hands-on expertise developing Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, and data models for operational or enterprise reporting.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to query, validate, and troubleshoot data across multiple sources.
  • Experience with ETL concepts, data warehousing fundamentals, and techniques for improving report and query performance.
  • Ability to perform document review, gap analysis, and process-focused analysis to translate business needs into reporting solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail with experience testing reports, validating results, and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
  • Comfortable working in Agile or Scrum-based environments and managing changing priorities in a contract assignment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
