About the role

As a Technology Consultant 2, you will contribute to key aspects of the software development lifecycle while specializing in Power BI/Fabric infrastructure, architecture, and operations. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to requirements elicitation by documenting assigned business requirements.
• Facilitate software application design discussions and document design decisions to guide the technical team.
• Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates into existing applications while maintaining system stability.
• Conduct code reviews, implement changes to the codebase, and maintain code repositories.
• Implement test strategies, analyze results, and coordinate bug fixes to uphold software quality standards.
• Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks for smooth software transitions.
• Actively resolve production issues and recommend preventive strategies to enhance system reliability.
• Maintain detailed records of code, testing techniques, and support activities to enrich the knowledge base.
• Oversee Power BI/Fabric platform upgrades, patching, user provisioning, workspace management, BI content migration, performance tuning, and license optimization.
• Administer and manage Microsoft Fabric capacities and workspaces, configure tenant settings, and enforce governance policies.
• Handle data source connectivity, gateway management, capacity planning, and security models.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and platform scalability.
• Design end-to-end BI platform architectures supporting enterprise-grade analytics.
• Define and enforce governance standards, including:
  • Data security and RLS/authorization frameworks
  • Naming conventions
  • Workspace/project taxonomy
  • Lifecycle management (dev → test → prod)
  • Usage/audit monitoring
• Partner with Data Architecture and Cloud teams to define best-practice integration patterns.
• Manage and mentor a team of cloud visualization platform infrastructure SMEs, providing technical leadership.
• Own and manage platform lifecycle, including patching, upgrades, capacity planning, performance tuning, and financial/license management.
• Enable new features, tools, and innovations to enhance user experience and productivity.
• Handle user access management, including accounts, permissions, and roles.
• Manage capacities to ensure sufficient resources for user needs.
• Configure platform settings, policies, and features to align with organizational needs and security requirements.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations.
• Monitor and audit platform usage, performance, and activity.
• Design and implement cloud security principles around data protection, IAM, compliance, threat detection, and disaster recovery.

Requirements

• Experience in managing infrastructure, architecture, and operations in Power BI/Fabric.
• Hands-on experience administering and managing Microsoft Fabric capacities and workspaces.
• Knowledge of Power BI tenant settings, workspaces, gateways, and dataflows.
• Familiarity with visualization technology’s REST APIs for automation and management.
• Experience designing end-to-end BI platform architectures for enterprise-grade analytics.
• Knowledge of Azure/AWS database platforms and SQL.
• Ability to design and implement cloud security principles (data protection, IAM, compliance, threat detection, disaster recovery).
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution (or three years of progressive experience per year of education).
• This position may require relocation and/or travel to work/project locations.
