Power Amplifier IC Design Co-Op (Winter/Spring 2027)
Responsibilities
- Working with experienced engineers to design and develop RF Integrated Circuits (RFICs) for multi-chip modules
- Designing RF power amplifiers
- Running simulations using industry-standard design tools such as Keysight ADS and Ansys HFSS
- Participating in and presenting during design reviews
- Performing laboratory testing using standard RF test equipment
- Troubleshooting and resolving design and technical issues
- Collaborating with engineers and technicians across multiple disciplines
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Commitment to working on-site in Irvine for the duration of the January–June 2027 co-op term
- Strong desire to learn, grow, and make an impact
- Strong career interest in power amplifier design and RF/microwave engineering
- Familiarity with amplifier operating modes, including Class A, AB, C, E, and F, as well as load modulation techniques such as Doherty power amplifier design
- Familiarity with Digital Predistortion (DPD), memory effects, and their impact on power amplifier design
- Willingness to share knowledge and collaborate with others
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Qualifications
Experience with Keysight ADS
Hands-on laboratory experience using a network analyzer and other RF test instruments
Understanding of Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) technology
Skills

Benefits
The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour.
Pay
Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
Schedule
The co-op term is from January to June 2027.
