Powder Product Bagger

About the role

Mullins Whey is seeking a self‑motivated, team‑oriented, eager‑to‑work individual to work in the powder product bagging areas. The company is family‑owned, growth‑focused, and collaborative, offering opportunities for advancement and employee input on troubleshooting and process improvement. The position is responsible for manufacturing high‑quality powdered products such as protein, lactose, permeate, and calcium.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment for filling bags and totes
• Keep accurate records and understand differences between bags, pallets, sheeting, and proper placement in the racking system
• Utilize forklifts and palletizers
• Complete pre‑operational checks on all equipment before starting a process
• Maintain good housekeeping at all times
• Observe proper safety policies and procedures at all times
• Perform minor maintenance items
• Operate equipment according to SOPs and make corrections based on system outputs and operational data
• Learn and operate computer‑related controls
• Follow GMP guidelines and all company policies
• Follow all safety procedures related to job functions
• Take samples in accordance with policy
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Willing and able to perform all job essential functions with or without accommodation
• Willing and able to be exposed to/perform all physical and environmental factors
• Physical demands: frequent twisting, bending, and squatting while handling a 60 lb object; long periods of standing and walking; lifting 60 lb from the ground; good finger/hand/multilimb dexterity

Qualifications

• Forklift certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1–3 years of experience in a packaging production position

Skills

• Ability to operate forklift
• Ability to learn and operate computer‑related controls
• Understanding of bagging, palletizing, and racking systems
• Knowledge of GMP and safety procedures

Pay

$23.50 per hour (includes a $3 shift premium for 6 pm–6 am and all day on Saturdays); overtime paid at 1.5× after 40 hours; pay is open based upon experience.

Schedule

Rotating weekly schedule: one week 4 am shift, one week 10 am shift, one week 6 pm shift, Monday–Saturday; Saturdays are required; Sundays and holidays may be required.
