About the role
As Manufacturing (Pourline) Supervisor, you will oversee daily pour-line operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements. You will supervise production staff, monitor equipment, coordinate workflow, and troubleshoot issues to maintain efficient, continuous production.
Responsibilities
- Complete pour schedule and supervise foam production to ensure in-spec output.
- Investigate production problems to minimize scrap.
- Monitor chemical and supply inventory to maintain specified levels.
- Prepare data and equipment for new production runs.
- Maintain clean, organized departments to reduce accidents.
- Cross-train employees to maximize department efficiency.
- Report and record required information for audits and metrics.
- Calibrate streams as needed.
- Complete position-specific training for the pour-line area.
- Understand and fulfill Environmental Management System (EMS) tasks.
- Learn the foam-making process through position training.
- Participate in disciplinary actions with crew when appropriate.
- Manage the line temporarily in the absence of the Technical or Pourline Manager.
- Troubleshoot complex foaming problems as experience grows.
- Run simple trials; assist with more complex trials as needed.
- Support EHS activities for the department under manager direction.
- Communicate quality system changes to personnel and ensure system integrity.
- Encourage team to meet customer requirements per SOPs.
- Stop shipment and production to resolve quality issues.
- Report product inconsistencies or nonconformances and participate in corrective/preventive actions.
- Directly supervise hourly crew during training.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1–5 years of manufacturing experience; supervisory experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Experience in foam production and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Experience with SPC/SQC and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
