Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, implement, and support SQL infrastructure deployment and management.
- Manage the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systems.
- Maintain the integrity and security, configure role-based access control (RBAC), and set up administrative accounts.
- Set up administrator and service accounts.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures.
- Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Develop and implement testing strategies and document results.
- Provide advice on performance tuning and training to end-users.
- Evaluate open-source or vendor tools and participate in database migration/special modernization projects.
- Collaborate with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, patching, and migrations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support.
Qualifications
- Clearance Required: Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI Poly
- Education/Experience: Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. 5+ years of related database analysis and/or administration experience.
- Required Skills: PostgreSQL experience required. Oracle database administration a plus. CompTIA Security+ or equivalent recommended. Experience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions. Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts. Experience with Database backup, restore, migration, and Database snapshot technologies/strategies. Knowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data. Knowledge of Oracle 19c administration and performance tuning. Migration experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.

Pay
The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $122,000-$135,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
