About the role
Cedars-Sinai has an outstanding opportunity for an independent and well-organized contributor to serve as a Postdoctoral Scientist supporting the research program of Dr. Judy Tan.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain lab and study-specific SOPs
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to study team
- Delegate responsibilities to team members to efficiently execute research protocols and procedures
- Experience working in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary teams
- May assist in the preparation of grant proposals, but is not responsible for generating grant funds
- May participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author
- Designs and performs experiments
- Keeps appropriate experimental records and documentation and analyzes the results with the Principal Investigator (PI)
- Develops, adapts, and implements new research techniques and protocols
- Analyzes, interprets, summarizes, and compiles data
- Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout the training period
- Operates and maintains equipment and instruments
- Makes observations of PI-patient or PI-human research subject interactions as it pertains directly to research being performed
Qualifications
- Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, DrPH or DDS) in area directly related to field of research specialization
- One to five (1-5) year post-doctoral appointment acquiring thorough technical and theoretical knowledge of research project and objectives
- Experience conducting and leading team on qualitative research, including design, recruitment, data collection, and data analysis and interpretation
- Experience in mixed methods research, community-engaged research and quantitative study design and analysis
- Experience with preparing manuscripts for submissions
- Previous work in a health care setting
- Develops and implements qualitative research methods and analysis
- Preferred skills in REDCap and qualitative data analysis software (Dedoose or Atlas)
- Proficient in conducting multi method and/or mixed-methods research
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, Microsoft Teams
