About the role

Cedars-Sinai has an outstanding opportunity for an independent and well-organized contributor to serve as a Postdoctoral Scientist supporting the research program of Dr. Judy Tan.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain lab and study-specific SOPs
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to study team
  • Delegate responsibilities to team members to efficiently execute research protocols and procedures
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary teams
  • May assist in the preparation of grant proposals, but is not responsible for generating grant funds
  • May participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author
  • Designs and performs experiments
  • Keeps appropriate experimental records and documentation and analyzes the results with the Principal Investigator (PI)
  • Develops, adapts, and implements new research techniques and protocols
  • Analyzes, interprets, summarizes, and compiles data
  • Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout the training period
  • Operates and maintains equipment and instruments
  • Makes observations of PI-patient or PI-human research subject interactions as it pertains directly to research being performed

Qualifications

  • Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, DrPH or DDS) in area directly related to field of research specialization
  • One to five (1-5) year post-doctoral appointment acquiring thorough technical and theoretical knowledge of research project and objectives
  • Experience conducting and leading team on qualitative research, including design, recruitment, data collection, and data analysis and interpretation
  • Experience in mixed methods research, community-engaged research and quantitative study design and analysis
  • Experience with preparing manuscripts for submissions
  • Previous work in a health care setting
  • Develops and implements qualitative research methods and analysis
  • Preferred skills in REDCap and qualitative data analysis software (Dedoose or Atlas)
  • Proficient in conducting multi method and/or mixed-methods research
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, Microsoft Teams
