About the role
Michigan Technological University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar for our Psychology and Human Factors department. The new post-doc will support a multi-university research initiative to study and model decision and judgment variability (i.e. noise).
Responsibilities
- Design, conduct, and analyze behavioral decision-making studies
- Write and submit research publications
- Perform literature reviews
- Attend regular research meetings
- Generate ideas
- Aid and mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers
- Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work
- Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives
- Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work
Requirements
- A Ph.D. (completed by start of employment) in cognitive science, psychology, human factors engineering, engineering or computer science with experience in behavioral science
- Training in behavioral science research methods and statistical analyses
- Experience with statistical software (preferably R, others acceptable)
Qualifications
- Desirable Knowledge, Skills, And/or Abilities: Experience working with interdisciplinary, collaborative teams, and managing research assistants; demonstrated success in, or potential future contributions to, working with persons with a wide variety of backgrounds and viewpoints

Pay
The minimum salary for this position is $63,000. The final salary will depend on experience and qualifications.
