UNLV invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar of Chemistry Education Research within the College of Science.

About the role

The successful candidate will perform research aligned with the Principal Investigator’s (PI) research program, propose independent research, and mentor graduate and undergraduate students. The role involves writing manuscripts, collecting and analyzing data, assisting with grant proposals, and receiving mentorship in research, job searching, grant writing, manuscript preparation, and research methodology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in chemistry education, including data collection and analysis.
• Write and prepare manuscripts for publication.
• Assist with grant proposal writing.
• Mentor incoming graduate and undergraduate students in the research group.
• Demonstrate independence in research endeavors and propose new research directions.

Requirements

• PhD in Chemistry Education Research or a related field from an accredited college or university (ABD considered). Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
• Experience in scientific/academic writing.
• Experience with research methodology (quantitative or mixed methods).
• Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Mplus, SPSS).

Pay

Salary range is $55,000 - $75,000, or commensurate with labor market and appointing authority’s availability of funds.
