At Johnson & Johnson, we believe health is everything. Our strength in healthcare innovation empowers us to build a world where complex diseases are prevented, treated, and cured, where treatments are smarter and less invasive, and solutions are personal. Through our expertise in Innovative Medicine and MedTech, we are uniquely positioned to innovate across the full spectrum of healthcare solutions today to deliver the breakthroughs of tomorrow, and profoundly impact health for humanity.

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to advance Neuroscience Precision Measures through multimodal neuroimaging and integrative biomarker modeling in neurodegenerative disease. The successful candidate will leverage multimodal MRI to support clinical/cognitive diagnosis and progression modeling, identify imaging correlates of underlying pathology, and develop predictive models that combine fluid biomarkers, PET, and MRI to improve performance and interpretability in translational contexts. The successful candidate will work in a matrixed environment and gain familiarity with biomarker deployment considerations in clinical development settings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply multimodal MRI measures to support clinical and cognitive diagnosis, disease staging, and longitudinal progression modeling.
  • Identify and quantify imaging correlates of pathology present in neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Build multivariate models that integrate MRI + PET + fluid biomarkers to improve predictive performance, robustness, and biological interpretability.
  • Implement hands-on, scalable pipelines for data onboarding, quality control, processing, and feature engineering across large datasets.
  • Operate effectively in a matrixed environment, partnering with cross-functional scientists to learn about and contribute to the development and deployment of biomarkers in clinical trials.
  • Communicate results clearly through internal and external presentations and publications.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biomedical Science, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • Strong record of imaging-related publications and scientific writing.
  • Expertise in at least one MRI modality (e.g., structural MRI, diffusion, fMRI, quantitative MRI).
  • Demonstrated ability to process data at scale (pipeline development; reproducible workflows).
  • Expertise in multivariate modeling (e.g., regularized regression, latent variable models, ensemble learning) and/or deep learning applied to neuroimaging/biomarkers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PET quantification and/or EEG analysis.
  • Experience integrating multimodal measures (imaging + biofluid + clinical/cognitive) and validating models on independent datasets.

Pay

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $79,000.00 - $127,650.00.
