What Your Job Will Be Like

The successful candidate will join the Metallurgy Engineering Department to apply core principles of chemical metallurgy to develop manufacturing methods for specialty alloys with advanced magnetic, electronic, and physical properties. The work involves investigating processing microstructure-property relationships, designing high-temperature experiments, and developing melt process designs. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and external partners, presenting results at internal reviews and conferences.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline within the last five years
  • Strong foundation in chemical metallurgy
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
  • Hands-on experience with specialty metals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and creatively in collaborative teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to evolving project needs
