About the role

The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at Penn State invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to work with Professor J. J. Zanazzi and collaborators. The postdoc will study planet formation during the protoplanetary disk phase, involving hydrodynamic simulations and first-principles calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop theoretical predictions testable by observations
  • Collaborate with Prof. Zanazzi to develop their own research program
  • Work within a vibrant community of scientists focusing on exoplanetary astrophysics

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or a closely related field
  • Experience with hydrodynamical simulations of protoplanetary disks, and/or post-processing to generate mock observations
