Postdoctoral Researcher

About the Role

The Postdoctoral Researcher will engage in full-time, on-site research activities at a facility in Chicago, IL. Responsibilities include designing and conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and contributing to the development of new research methodologies. The role involves collaborating with senior researchers and cross-functional teams, preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications, and presenting findings in seminars, conferences, and internal meetings.

The Postdoctoral Researcher will also support grant writing, assist in mentoring junior researchers or students, and help maintain laboratory standards, documentation, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Strong Laboratory Skills with experience in experimental design, instrumentation, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Proven Research abilities, including project planning, scientific problem-solving, and contribution to publications or conference presentations.
• Background in Physics or a closely related field, with demonstrated understanding of relevant theoretical and experimental concepts.
• Competence in Data Analysis, including statistical methods, quantitative modeling, and use of appropriate software or programming tools.
• Teaching or mentoring experience, such as supervising students, leading tutorials or lab sessions, or contributing to educational activities.
• Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Physics, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet research deadlines.
• Prior experience with grant proposals, research funding applications, or collaborative projects is an advantage.
