Postdoctoral Research Associate - Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

About the role

The postdoctoral position is within the laboratory of Samuel W. Brady, focusing on identifying and therapeutically targeting key dependencies in pediatric solid tumors and cancer genomics, including mutational signatures.

Responsibilities

• Experimental study of key pediatric cancer dependencies
• Identification of new therapeutic approaches to target these dependencies
• Studies of protein signaling, subcellular relocalization
• Pharmacological studies using existing small molecule inhibitors
• Study of newly-developed compounds and approaches to inhibit essential childhood cancer dependencies

Requirements

• A recent PhD degree in cancer biology, pharmacology, or chemical biology
• Familiarity with cancer models, protein analysis (Western blot and immunoprecipitation)
• Experience with microscopy, cell culture, and molecular biology techniques
• An interest in both basic and translational cancer research

Qualifications

• Strong background in cancer biology, pharmacology, and/or chemical biology
• Proactive and creative approach to research
• Interest in interfacing with computational genomics colleagues in the lab

Skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in relevant software and laboratory equipment
