Postdoctoral Research Associate in Quantum Many-Body Perturbation Theory
Responsibilities
The Quantum and Condensed Matter Physics Group in the Theoretical Division of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral position in theoretical condensed matter physics. The postdoc will focus on quantum many-body perturbation theory and its extension to non‑equilibrium problems, with the goal of modeling scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS) spectra of transuranic compounds using machine‑learning techniques to analyze theoretical and experimental data. The work involves developing theoretical and computational methods and applying ML techniques. Successful applicants will join a highly collaborative project aimed at unraveling the fundamental properties of transuranic compounds and establishing key fingerprints of bonding and electronic correlations, and will be an integral part of a dynamic team of condensed‑matter theory and experiment scientists at LANL. The appointment is for an initial period of two years.
