Postdoctoral Research Associate – AI for Cybersecurity
Position Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to develop and expand upon a diversified technical skill set while making a positive contribution to Agentic AI in Cybersecurity. Research projects for this position will involve Machine Learning and Computer Vision.
In this position, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with a vast network of scientists and engineers in other Universities.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, or a closely related field
- Experience in programming Python or Equivalent
- Experience in publishing IEEE or ACM transactions or journals
- Ability to mentor junior team members, and ensure the highest levels of laboratory safety
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and short turnaround times
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a postdoc at VCU
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in Agentic AI
- Interest in Deepfake or Cybersecurity

Salary Range
$50,000-$60,000/year
