Aim of the Fellowship

This position is designed to provide advanced interdisciplinary clinical and leadership training in the assessment and diagnosis of ASD and ADHD and evidence-based interventions. Fellows will conduct assessments independently. Psychological evaluation techniques may include cognitive measures, structured interviews and observations, social/emotional evaluations, as well as opportunities to complete comprehensive evaluations for developmental concerns including autism spectrum disorders and/or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorders. Minor rotation may include additional opportunity for a primarily clinical fellowship with both intervention and assessment experience within an integrated primary care setting.

Work Environment

Fellows will work in a pediatric primary care clinic with opportunities to interact and consult with nurses, and physicians. Intervention opportunities may include individual and family, using evidence-based treatment modalities to address a variety of internalizing and externalizing concerns. Additionally, opportunities for consultation with school and community personnel will be available.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must demonstrate completion of all professional doctoral degree requirements from an APA-accredited program (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) and an APA-APPIC approved pre-doctal internship.
  • All applicants should be eligible to obtain a provisionally licensed psychologist license in the state of Florida.
  • Post docs must have a driver’s license and the ability to travel to clinical sites.
  • Additionally, applicants must be eligible for a Mental Health Counselor license in Florida.

  • Postdoctoral fellows are required to complete their doctoral degree prior to beginning postdoctoral fellow training. If the degree will not be conferred until after the start date of August 1st, then the fellow is required to submit a rights and privileges letter from the training director of the University where the degree will be conferred.
