Postdoctoral Fellow - Surgical Oncology

Learning Objectives

• Identify steps in publishing surgical educational research.
• Utilize needs assessment to develop novel surgical education materials.
• Utilize online educational platforms to disseminate educational materials.
• Participate in active IRB protocols in surgical oncology research.
• Work closely with and observe HPB fellows/trainees in their research projects.
• Learn the process of navigating institutional review board applications.

Eligibility Requirements

• The candidate should have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree in Medicine, Biology, Molecular Biology, or Genetics.
• The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication; effective judgment and problem solving, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a solid foundation in genetically engineered animal models, microscopy and biochemistry.
• Expertise in Excel, and other bioinformatics analysis software; strong attention to detail, multi-tasking; and a willingness to learn new technologies.

Position Information

• Offsite work arrangements are subject to approval and may be modified or revoked at any time based on business needs, performance considerations, or regulatory requirements.
• This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening.
