Job Summary
A training position designed to learn, through engagement, in an advanced level of scientific, technical, and administrative work in support of a research program. Participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols; develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures; publish results in scientific journals.
This post-doctoral position will focus on the directions for the recent funded Strategically Focused Research Network on Cardiovascular Kidney Metabolic Syndrome: Heterogeneity in Women. The fellow will conduct research in cardiovascular epidemiology research with other investigators within and outside of AU, publish work in peer reviewed journals of the field, and disseminate collaborative work through presentations and collaborative manuscripts in peer reviewed journals.

Responsibilities
- Participate in project planning and development of research protocols and carry out experiments while ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principles and compliance with relevant federal guidelines.
- Analyze results of experiments and procedures using manual or computer techniques and, if necessary, develop special computer programs to facilitate analysis.
- Teach and participate in complex bacteriological, chemical and/or radio-chemical qualitative and quantitative analysis, macro- and micro-serological, histologic and cell culture procedures.

Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university in Epidemiology or a closely related field.
- M.D./PhD candidates with experience and interest in cardiovascular disease epidemiology will also be considered.
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases or willingness to learn.
- Solid background in graduate-level statistics and machine learning algorithms.
- Proficiency in at least one of the popular programming languages for machine learning and statistical research and data analysis.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
- Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required).
- Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
- This position is (fully/partially) funded through external sources. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of these funds.
