Postdoctoral Fellow Position in the Area of RNA biology

About the role

The Thakor Research Group at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, seeks a postdoctoral fellow to investigate the regulation of mRNA translation (protein synthesis) in stress and cancer, building on the group's expertise in molecular and cellular biology.

Responsibilities

- Investigate the regulation of mRNA translation in stress and cancer. - Conduct mammalian tissue culture experiments. - Prepare and analyze RNA libraries. - Perform gene expression studies. - Analyze sequencing data. - Work with human stem cells, tissue microarrays, pre-clinical cancer organoids, and mouse models (xenograft or syngeneic).

Requirements

A solid publication record in molecular and cellular biology is required. Key technical skills include: - Mammalian tissue culture. - RNA library preparation. - Gene expression. - Sequencing data analysis. Experience with human stem cells, tissue microarrays, pre-clinical cancer organoids, and mouse models (xenograft or syngeneic) is an asset.

Qualifications

- Motivated, creative researcher. - Good communication skills. - Scientific writing skills. - Strong work ethic. Preference will be given to candidates eligible for NSERC and CIHR postdoctoral fellowships.
