About the research

A postdoctoral researcher position is available to study viral pathogenesis and virus-host interactions of a wide range of pathogens, including arboviruses, paramyxoviruses, and poxviruses in the Lim lab at the Department of Microbiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY. The Lim lab is embedded in a highly collaborative and intellectually active virology community. Responsibilities

  • Drive independent research projects in close consultation with the PI
  • Lead manuscripts for publication
  • Join an existing team of researchers
  • Opportunity to be appointed to NIH-funded T32 training grants
  • Opportunity to develop independent research projects

Qualifications

  • PhD in virology, immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, or a related field; recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Prior experience in virology is preferred
  • Expertise in animal models, bioinformatics and/or advanced genomics approaches (single-cell RNA-sequencing, spatial transcriptomics) is advantageous
  • Individuals who intend to follow a career in academic science are especially encouraged to apply

Pay & benefits

  • Salary range: $72,500 – $80,000 annually
