Postdoctoral Fellow in Quantum Materials and Devices – Deng Research Group
Position Summary
Indiana University, Bloomington Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering Department of Intelligent Systems Engineering invites applications for a postdoctoral position focused on investigating emerging physical phenomena in low-dimensional quantum materials and leveraging them in device applications. The candidates should be familiar with quantum physics and solid-state physics/devices and should have extensive hands-on experimental experience in condensed matter physics, electrical engineering, or materials science. Prior experience in nanodevice fabrication and electrical/optical measurements is preferred but not required.
Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science and Engineering by the time of the appointment.
- Hands-on experimental experience with solid-state device/materials.
- Proficiency in data processing software such as Origin, JMP, Mathematica, MATLAB.
- Good communication skills including oral and written.
- Strong work ethics, motivations, and problem-solving capabilities.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
- 2D materials processing (exfoliation, synthesis, transfer, etc.).
- Nanodevice fabrication in cleanroom environment (EBL, metallization, dry etching, ALD, etc.).
- Electrical transport measurements at low temperatures.
- Optical spectroscopic measurements.
- Materials characterizations (AFM, SEM, TEM, Raman, etc.).
