About the role
The Postdoctoral Fellow – Chao Ma Lab is a professional position within the Cleveland Clinic Research Department, focusing on cutting-edge research in organ-on-a-chip, microfluidics, hematopoietic biology, disease modeling, and cancer bioengineering.
Responsibilities
- Independently design and conduct research projects aimed at generating, analyzing, interpreting data, and preparing manuscripts for publication.
- Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present research results at national and international scientific conferences.
- Contribute to the development of research projects, grant proposals, and progress reports.
- Manage lab operations, develop protocols, and mentor junior researchers.
Requirements
- PhD or MD/PhD degree required; MD with relevant laboratory experience may substitute.
- Previous experience in research or academia.
- Scientific writing experience.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Strong research expertise in molecular, cellular, or tissue engineering.
- Strong research expertise in immunology, immune-oncology, or immune-engineering.
- Strong research expertise in stem cell culture or organoid development.
- Strong background in biomedical engineering, microfabrication, bioprinting, lab-on-a-chip, and microfluidics.
Qualifications
- English proficiency required for candidates on J-1, J-2, or F1 + OPT visas.
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Ability to operate computers and other office equipment.
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
- Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.

Pay
- Minimum Annual Salary: $31,200.00
- Maximum Annual Salary: $95,000.00
