Postdoctoral Fellow

About the role

Our lab welcomes applications for a postdoctoral fellow position to conduct specialized research on human oligodendrocyte biology, development, and disorders. The postdoc fellow will carry out independent research in the Nobuta Lab involving cellular/molecular, electrophysiological and informatic analyses of the oligodendrocytes as well as neuron-oligodendrocyte interaction in human tissues, specimens, and cell lines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cellular/molecular, electrophysiological and informatic analyses of oligodendrocytes and neuron-oligodendrocyte interactions
• Perform cell culture, cell sorting, in vivo surgical procedures in mice, and iPS cell maintenance/manipulations
• Prepare manuscripts for publication and present research findings to the PI
• Contribute to the preparation of grant and fellowship applications

Requirements

• Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience, Genetics, Bioinformatics, or a related science (ABD candidates will be considered)
• Demonstrated productivity in research
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and biochemical and biophysical analyses
