About the role
We seek applicants for Postdoctoral Associate positions in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics at Rutgers University, starting dates in 2025 through 2026.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to research projects in areas such as strongly correlated fermion materials, high-temperature superconductivity, topological electronic states of matter, and more.
- Collaborate with faculty members including Professors Natan Andrei, Premi Chandra, Piers Coleman, Kristjan Haule, Gabi Kotliar, Jed Pixley, Karin Rabe, Ananda Roy, David Vanderbilt, and Emil Yuzbashyan.
- Maintain a strong publication record and present findings at conferences and seminars.
Requirements
- A PhD in Theoretical Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in theoretical condensed matter physics.
- Experience with computational methods at the density-functional and dynamical mean-field-theory levels.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Qualifications
- Research experience in one or more of the following areas: strongly correlated fermion materials, high-temperature superconductivity, topological electronic states of matter, and nonlinear and anomalous responses.
- Experience with quantum computation and information theory, mesoscopic physics, and non-equilibrium transport theory.
- Ability to conduct independent research and contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations.
Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Fortran, or C++.
- Knowledge of density-functional theory and dynamical mean-field theory.
- Experience with computational tools and software relevant to theoretical condensed matter physics.
