The Coller Laboratory at The Rockefeller University focuses on platelet physiology, thrombosis, vascular biology, and adhesion phenomena, particularly in sickle cell disease. The lab collaborates with the Rockefeller University–Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Institute for Global Infectious Disease Research and the Rockefeller University Center for Clinical and Translational Science (RU-CCTS).

About the role

We are seeking an advanced Postdoctoral researcher to contribute to our team's efforts in studying population health models of Chagas Disease and other emerging infectious diseases. This role offers opportunities for practice-based research and service-learning within both academic and community-based settings.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a project in the Fellow’s area of scholarship/expertise related to Chagas Disease and patients served by Federally Qualified Health Centers
  • Serving as primary author on manuscripts led by Fellow and co-author on other manuscripts, including preparing literature reviews
  • Providing introductory-level training in Fellow’s area of expertise to team members and collaborators
  • Mentoring research staff, including trainees, clinical scholars, and practicing clinicians

Qualifications

  • PhD, DrPH, ScD, DNP or equivalent degree in a relevant field such as social and behavioral science, bioethics, policy, geography/climate science or other fields that can contribute to a broader understanding of emerging infectious diseases in communities experiencing significant health disparities
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary research team
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude to be a lead author on peer-reviewed publications and grant proposals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Spanish language skills
  • Quantitative Analysis Skills (R, SAS, Python)
  • Qualitative Analysis Skills (conducting and analyzing Focus Groups)
