Postdoctoral Associate in AI Bioinformatics and Single Cell Multi-omics

Dr. Feifei Xiao's laboratory at the University of Florida's Department of Biostatistics is seeking a fully funded postdoctoral associate to develop machine learning and deep learning methods for analyzing large-scale single-cell DNA-seq, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and spatial transcriptome data. The role also involves developing modern statistical approaches for integrating multi-omics datasets and causal inference to understand the architecture and causal factors of human diseases such as cancer, aging-related outcomes, and sepsis.

About the role

Initial funding is for two years with a potential second, two-year appointment based on need and productivity. The Department of Biostatistics is ranked #11 in Biostatistics Programs at Public Universities by U.S. News & World Report and is strategically situated within the College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) and the College of Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Methodology and software development for machine learning and deep learning approaches
  • Data analysis of single-cell and multi-omics datasets
  • Manuscript writing and research presentation at conferences
  • Assistance with grant applications

Requirements

  • Doctorate in a field appropriate to the assigned duties and responsibilities
  • PhD in Biostatistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field

Qualifications

  • Proficient in R/Python (preferred)
  • Prior experience in genetic or genomic data analysis (preferred)

Pay

$63,480 annually, commensurate with experience level and in accordance with current NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines.
