Job Duties
- Designs and conducts logical scientific experiments.
- Performs data analysis.
- Works with technologies/techniques such as next generation sequencing (whole genome sequencing, exome sequencing, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, Hi-C), array CGH, droplet digital PCR, and genome editing.
- Shows competency in troubleshooting.
- Presents results to the research group in weekly meetings.
- Participates in domestic conferences, meetings, and the annual departmental retreat.
- Sums up research findings in scientific manuscripts to be published in research or clinical journals, prepare project reports, grant proposals, and abstracts.
- Collaborates with the bioinformatics and functional genomics team in the lab.
- Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
- Maintains laboratory operations.
- Supervises research staff.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in human or molecular genetics.
- Experience in genomic analyses techniques that includes next generation sequencing - DNA and transcriptome, chromosomal microarrays, cell culture, qPCR, gene regulation assays, 3D chromatin structure.
- Prior experience in the area of developmental genetics.
