About the role
The POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE will join an international team of scientists working as part of the global AGAGE network and a large community of atmospheric chemists at MIT. The work will focus on interpretation of AGAGE observations of non-CO2 greenhouse and ozone-depleting gases (e.g., N2O, CFCs, HFCs) using models, measurements, and inverse methods.
Responsibilities
- Interpretation of AGAGE observations of non-CO2 greenhouse and ozone-depleting gases using models, measurements, and inverse methods.
- Contribute to the understanding of emissions, transport rates, and mechanisms, loss rates, and mechanisms, and ozone depletion and radiative forcing by these gases.
- Collaborate with a diverse group of scientists and researchers from various disciplines.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
- Proficiency in scientific programming.
- Demonstration of experience in quantitative research.
PREFERRED
- Experience in inverse modelling.
- Experience using 3D chemical transport models.
- Experience working with a range of observational data sets of atmospheric composition such as ground-based and remote-sensing measurements.
- An emerging strong track record of scientific output.
