Post-doctoral Research Associate in Public Health Nutrition - Grade 7

About the role

The successful candidate will lead on business recruitment, data collection and analysis (qualitative and quantitative), supervise a graduate level research assistant to support data collection, co-supervise a PhD student to support trial completion, work as part of a wider team and programme of research, support the dissemination of the research, including contribution to research publications and conference presentations, identify and engage in personal development opportunities to support career development, and contribute to project reports and presentations to stakeholders where appropriate.

Responsibilities

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a background in nutrition, food and/or public health, and a PhD in a relevant field. They should have experience in leading research projects, supervising research assistants and PhD students, and conducting both qualitative and quantitative data analysis.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a PhD in a relevant field and be eligible to work in the UK.

Skills

Strong skills in research design, data analysis, and project management are essential. Proficiency in statistical software packages such as SPSS or R is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also necessary.

Benefits

The post offers a competitive salary range of £39,906 to £42,254 per annum, along with benefits including a flexible working arrangement and access to a dedicated budget for personalized training, study visits, and external placements.

Schedule

The post is a fixed-term contract until September 2028, with an expected start date of October 2026. The expectation is that the successful applicant will work more than 60% on campus.
