Post Doctoral Research Associate: Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering - UTK
Responsibilities
- Develop experimental program for sustainable building materials
- Conducted research in the area of building materials, and infrastructure data management
- Train undergraduate and graduate students on simulation software
- Develop codes and algorithms to support data acquisition and analysis
- Aid in technical report writing
- Aid in proposal writing
- Ensure safe laboratory and work space environment
- Host lab tours
- Equipment upkeep
- Document laboratory activities and related data as records
Qualifications
- PhD in civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree program
- 2 years (including degree program) experience in building materials
- Comfortable working in teams to support experimental work
- Knowledge of building materials and micromechanics based modeling
- Knowledge of programming, data processing
- Ability to develop simulation algorithms and tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
About the Role
The Postdoctoral researcher will report to Dr. Hongyu Zhou. This is a twelve-month appointment, renewable annually for up to two years based on performance and funds availability.
Onsite Compensation & Benefits
Anticipated hiring range: $75,024
