Position Details
The position is funded initially for one year and housed within the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh, working with Dr. Yue (Joyce) Jiang and collaborators. The position may be extended pending funding and performance. Start date is as soon as practicable and is negotiable.
Required
- A PhD in Physics with a specialization in superconducting circuits or laser-cooled Rydberg atoms.
- PREFERRED: Experience with laser-cooled Rydberg atom systems, experience in superconducting circuit fabrication, or experience in integrating cryogenics with ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement a Rydberg atomic ensemble system in a cryogenic environment.
- Carry out Rydberg atom experiments.
- Design the interface between the superconducting circuit and the atomic system.
- Participate in grant writing.
- Write manuscripts for publication.
- Present at conferences.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Assist with mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

- PhD in Physics with a specialization in superconducting circuits or laser-cooled Rydberg atoms.
Skills
