Post-doctoral position in biological chemistry
About the Project
This position is part of the Interdisciplinary and Exploratory Research project (RIE) « GlycoMechano – Crosslinking of glycans to modulate the mechanical properties of the brain ». The goal is to develop molecular tools capable of modulating the rigidity of the extracellular matrix (ECM) of neuronal tissue to study the effect of synaptic-environment rigidification on plasticity.
Responsibilities
- Develop molecular tools and cell-labelling strategies, from organic sugar synthesis to visualization by fluorescence microscopy at various resolution levels.
- Validate tools in different cellular models.
Work Environment
You will work within two laboratories: the Molecular Photonics, Chemobiology and Imaging (PMCI) group and the Interdisciplinary Institute for Neuroscience (IINS), under the joint supervision of Frédéric Friscourt (Chemobiology) and Morgane Rosendale (Neuroscience).
Requirements
- Organic synthesis (primarily glycan chemistry).
- Cell culture experience.
- Microscopy skills.
